Several archaeological finds in Mahathalakolawewa 

Several archaeological finds were discovered by the CCF during the excavation at Medirigiriya Mahathalakolawewa. Among this finds there are many archaeologically valuable artifacts and architectural monuments part of a Buddha statue, monastery complex, foot print stone, mal asana (Altar), slag, iron nails, beads and Porcelain manufactured in foreign countries etc..
Potteries found during the excavation belongs to 1st century BC. and the Porcelain belongs to 8th and 9th century.
