Senior Professor Gamini Adikari is appointed to the Director General of the Central Cultural Fund.

He has obtained a Special Degree in Archaeology from the University of Kelaniya and a Phd from same university, after carrying out his studies in Upsala University in Sweden.

Immediately after the graduation he was fourtunate enough to work under guidance of the famous Archaeologist Prof.Senaka Bandaranayake, in the Sigiriya Archaeological project of the Central Cultural Fund.

He has been a president of the National Council of Archeologists in Sri Lanka and he is the president of the ICOMAS, Sri Lanka branch. Presently he is the Director of the postgraduate institute of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya.
