The Queen’s Chamber (Medavasala) in the City of Kandy, which was conserved by the Central Culture Fund (CCF) was opened for the public on 5th March 2016. This historical monument was inaugurated by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Minister of Education with the participation of Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, Minister of Highways Higher Education.

Foreign Tourists – US$ 1
Local Tourists (Adults) – Rs. 20.00
Local Tourists (Children below 12 years of age) and School Children– Rs. 10.00
The conserved image house belonging to Kandyan period, the side wall, preaching hall and chapter house of the Galedanada purana vihara in pilawala, the conserved chapter house at Degaldoruwa and the conserved preaching hall at Menikhinna vihara were also opened for the public on the same day.
Mr. Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara, the Chief Custodian of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Mr. Sarath Ekanayake, Chief Minister of the Central Province, Mr. Laki Jayawardhana, the UNP Organizer for Kandy, Mr. W.M.Bandusena, Secretary, Ministry of Education and Prof. Prishantha Gunawardhana, Director General, Central Culture Fund and Large gathering of people were present at this occasion.
