New appointments were made for the Consultants and Directors of the Central Cultural Fund proposed projects. The letters of appointment was given by Hon.Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Minister of Education at the Head Office of the CCF on 2nd March 2016. Mr Deepthi Perera Coordinating Secretary to the Minister of Education, Mr Kalpa Gunarathna Media Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Prof.Prishanta Gunawardana Director General, CCF, Mr Karunarathna Herath, Working Director, CCF and several other senior officials of the CCF also attended this event. Dr. Siran Deraniyagala was appointed as the consultant of Prehistoric Archaeology. The other professionals were appointed as the Directors of newly proposed projects of the CCF as follows: Dr.Nimal Perera, Director (archaeology), Ratnapura District, Prof.Uda Hettige, Director (archaeology), Gampaha District, Dr.Chulani Rambukwella, Director (archaeology), Badulla District, Prof.Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Director (archaeology), Kegalle District, Dr.Arjuna Thantillage, Director (archaeology), Trincomalee District, Dr.P.Pushparathnam, Director(archaeology), Jaffna District, Archt. D.B. Navaratna Director (architectural conservation), Wayamba Cultural Quqdrangle, Dr.Thusitha Mendis, Director (archaeology ), suburbs of Anuradhapura, Prof. A.A.D.Amarasekara, Director (archaeology), Wayamba Cultural Quadrangle and Archt. H.K. Balachandra, Director (architectural conservation) Gampaha and Badulla Districts.
At the same time, a financial donation was made to Mr. K.K.Ganesji, Programme Director of the Art of living Foundation to meet the expenses of the Dance Team that represented Sri Lanka at the 35 th World Cultural Festival which was held in India.
