Archaeological and Anthropological Research Project in Polonnaruwa

The Central Cultural Fund and the Durham University, UK organized a joint project to explore
and excavate archaeological sites in Polonnaruwa and surrounding area. The second stage of the excavation was commenced on from 04th July 2016 to 30th July 2016. In this project we hope to Continuing  to the Bedrock the excavation which was done in first stage.

Including  Robin Coningham UNESCO Professor & Pro- Vice chancellor, university of Durham, K. Krishnan, Professor, university of Baroda, and fifteen specialist  from England, Nepal, India and Australia came to Sri Lanka  for this excavation.
