A friendly cricket tournament was organized in between teams from all the institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Saturday (10^th of February, 2024) chaired by the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Hon. Vidura Wickramanayake at the Shalika Stadium in Colombo.

This cricket tournament was organized as per an idea of the Honorable Minister with the aim of developing the friendship between the officers of the Ministry and its affiliated institutions as well as entertaining the officers who are working all the time at offices.

The championship of the tournament was won by the National Archives Department team and the runner-up was won by the Central Cultural Fund team.

A musical show was also organized parallelly throughout the day.

Secretary to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs – Mr. Somaratne Vidanapathirana, Director General of the Central Cultural Fund – Prof. Gamini Ranasinghe, Additional Secretaries of the Ministry and many officials from all the institutions affiliated to the Ministry along with their family members participated in this event.
