Activities have been organized by the Sigiriya project of the Central Cultural Fund from 14th of January 2023 to provide the opportunity to watch the sunrise from the summit of Sigiriya Rock. Hon. Vidura Wickramanayake, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, will participate in the opening event.

The main objective of this program is to promote Sigiriya for the betterment of tourism industry, as an attractive destination for local and foreign tourists. Arrangements have been made to issue tickets and open the entrance to the Sigiriya premises from 5.30 am with effective from 14th of January 2023.
